Presentation
The 9th Spanish Conference on Electron Devices brings together the work of both research groups and companies on the field of electronic devices. This edition will take place in February 2013, 12th and 14th in Valladolid, carrying on with a series of previous events in Palma de Mallorca (2011), Santiago de Compostela (2009), El Escorial (Madrid, 2007), Tarragona (2005), Calella de la Costa (2003), Granada (2001), Madrid (1999) y Barcelona (1997).
As usual, the Conference program consists of invited and contributed papers organized in topic sessions. It there will be two plenary talks. The language of the conference will be English.
Contributed papers accepted for the Conference will be presented either orally or by poster. This conference is included in the IEEE Conference Publications Program (CPP). IEEE has a long-standing commitment to ensuring the high quality of its conferences and of the conference proceedings published in IEEE Xplore®. Therefore, IEEE reserves the right to withhold publishing of proceedings that do not meet the IEEE quality standards. IEEE makes every reasonable attempt to ensure that abstract and index entries of content accepted into the CPP are included in databases provided by independent abstracting and indexing (A&I) services. Each A&I partner makes its own editorial decision on what content it will index. IEEE cannot guarantee entries are included in any particular database.
The Congress will conclude with a workshop about Solar Energy, which will be composed of a series of plenary talks, six invited talks and a round table with the participation of companies of Solar Energy Cluster of Castilla and León.
Because of the delicate economic situation, fundings to the Congress have been greatly reduced compared to previous years, so the question will necessarily be unpretentious, but without loss of scientific quality.
We appreciate in advance the understanding of all the participants for this forced sobriety and we are convinced that face of these difficulties we must use all our resources to ensure that science and progress will continue to develop.
Vladimir Nabokov claims that “there is no science without fancy”, even if, according to Hans Magnus Enzensberger, "poetry of science is not at ground level, but comes from the deepest layers".
